Allentown, PA (November 30, 2017) Every year, Allentown School District high school and middle schools host their annual winter concerts featuring vocal and instrumental performances by our many talented students. The public is invited to celebrate the holiday season at the 2017 Winter Concert Series.
- December 7 at 6:00 p.m.: Trexler Middle School Winter Concert featuring Band, and Choir
o Trexler Auditorium, 851 N. 15th Street. Admission is Free
- December 12 at 6:30 p.m.: Raub Middle School Winter Concert featuring the Band and Choir
o Francis D. Raub Auditorium, 102 S. St. Cloud Street. Admission is Free
- December 12 at 7:00 p.m.: Dieruff High School Holiday Concert featuring Dieruff Choir and Band
o Dieruff Auditorium, 815 N. Irving Street. Cost: $5/adults; $3/students
- December 13 at 5:30 p.m.: South Mountain Middle School Winter Concert featuring Band and Chorus
o South Mountain Auditorium, 709 W. Emaus Avenue. Cost: $2/person
- December 18 at 7:00 p.m.: William Allen High School Winter Concert featuring William Allen Chorale, Choir Orchestra and Canary Cavaliers Jazz Band
o Dr. John McHugh Auditorium at William Allen, 106 N. 17th Street. Cost: $5/person
- December 19 at 7:00 p.m.: Harrison-Morton Middle School Concert featuring Band and Choir
o Harrison-Morton Auditorium, 137 N. 2nd Street. Cost: $2 at the door
In addition to the performances at district buildings, two high school groups will participate in community events during the holiday season. On December 14th, the Dieruff HS Choir will perform at the Bethlehem Steel Stacks Christkindlemart festival between 1-2:00 pm. Entry to Christkindlemart is $9 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and free for children under the age of 5. Also on December 14, the William Allen HS Chorale will take part in Symphony on Ice, held at the PPL Center on December 14 at 7:00 pm. Tickets $28 – $48 and are available online at www.pplcenter.com or www.millersymphonyhall.org, by phone at 610-347-TIXX or in person at the PPL Arena Box Office. The district is very excited for the opportunity to showcase our incredible arts programs to the community in the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
