Bear Creek Mountain Resort is on the edge of its seat in anticipation of Firelight: a film shot on property in February of 2023. Film lovers and mountain enthusiasts from across the Lehigh Valley, and surrounding areas, are welcome to attend a screening of Firelight for one-night-only at Bear Creek Mountain Resort (101 Doe Mountain Lane, Macungie, PA) on Saturday, June 6th.
On the last morning of a post-pandemic ski weekend reunion, a group of college friends decides to stay one more day. Firelight, written and directed by Nathan Breton and produced by Delacey Skinner, captures what happens when no one is quite ready to leave, and the mountain they called home for a weekend becomes the backdrop for something they did not expect. Cast members Mike Mitchell, Jr. and Adrian Sterling, known to audiences as Atlas and Ben, will join the filmmakers at Bear Creek for the screening and post-film Q&A.
How often do you get to watch a movie in the same location that the movie was filmed?
This one-time, unique viewing experience consists of a free movie screening and a post film Q&A with complementary popcorn, of course. Or guests can upgrade their ticket to include a “kill the fridge” style dinner buffet, inspired by scenes in the film. For true film fanatics, Bear Creek is also hosting an intimate VIP Writer’s Room cocktail hour, including a meet and greet with writer/director Nathan Breton and producer Delacey Skinner.
“Firelight was born right here on this mountain, and we could not think of a more fitting place to bring it home,” said Rachel Myers, Marketing Content and Design Specialist of Bear Creek Mountain Resort. “This is a truly unique evening that celebrates independent filmmaking, the spirit of ‘one more night,’ and everything that makes Bear Creek special. We are thrilled to welcome back the cast and crew and invite our community to experience this with us.”
The evening is scheduled as follows: the VIP Cocktail Hour begins at 5:00 p.m.; the “Kill the Fridge” Dinner Buffet runs from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m.; and the film screening and Q&A take place from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. The film runs one hour and 32 minutes and is not yet rated. Viewer discretion is advised. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening.
