International Riders Chase Valuable Olympic Qualification Points June 4-6 at Valley Preferred Cycling Center

BREINIGSVILLE, Pa. — Some of the world’s fastest track cyclists will descend on the Valley Preferred Cycling Center this week as T-Town hosts the prestigious Fastest Man and Woman on Wheels UCI C2 event from June 4-6.

More than just another race weekend, the event serves as a critical stop on the international calendar, offering riders valuable UCI points that contribute toward qualification for future World Championships, Nations Cups, and ultimately the Olympic Games.

Fans can expect an exceptional field featuring elite riders from the United States, Great Britain, New Zealand, and beyond competing at one of the most historic velodromes in the world.

“The Fastest Man and Woman on Wheels has long been one of the marquee events on our calendar,” said Gary Thornton, Executive Director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. “The racing is world-class, the stakes are high, and fans will have the opportunity to watch athletes pursuing Olympic dreams right here in the Lehigh Valley.”

Friday night’s featured program begins at 7 p.m. and showcases the sport’s most explosive disciplines, including UCI Sprint Finals, Scratch Races, a Points Race, and a thrilling Madison finale. Sprint events will determine the fastest man and fastest woman on wheels, while endurance specialists battle for victory in longer tactical races.

Among the men’s field are international standouts including New Zealand champion Magnus Jamieson, British National Champion James Ambrose-Parish, British Keirin medalist Will Munday, New Zealand sprint specialist Jared Mann, and local favorites including 2024 Rider of the Year Lance Abshire, seven-time national champion Finn Koller, and Penn State student and Madison Cup Champion Otis Engel.

The women’s field is equally impressive, led by Olympic Long Team member and nine-time national champion Colleen Gulick, USA National Team rider and Pan American Champion Reagen Pattishall, reigning collegiate national champion Stephanie Lawrence, New Zealander Lucy Reeve, British National Derny Champion Dannielle Watkinson, 27-time National Champion Mandy Marquardt, and local legend Kim Zubris, a U.S. Elite National Champion and Masters World Champion.

Fans will also have the opportunity to cheer on rising local stars including Dakota Stein, Troy Sanders, Mia Deye, Brad Green, and several of the nation’s top junior and U23 riders.

In addition to the racing action, families can enjoy a full evening of entertainment in the VPCC Plaza. The popular Kids Zone will feature bounce houses, coloring activities, bike racing opportunities, and other family-friendly attractions throughout the evening.

The Fastest Man and Woman on Wheels continues a historic tradition that has seen many future Olympians and world champions compete on the concrete surface of T-Town. As the Valley Preferred Cycling Center celebrates its 50th anniversary season, this weekend’s event serves as another reminder of the venue’s role as a proving ground for cycling’s next generation of international stars.
