The funds, provided by Bridge Educational Foundation and Commonwealth Charitable Management, will go toward Grace Montessori School’s Closing the Achievement Gap program. 

Allentown, Pa. (November 12, 2024) – Grace Montessori School (GMS), a nonprofit school and childcare center serving children ages 15 months to 12 years, received $66,000 in Educational Improvement Tax Credits (EITC) slated for the 2024-25 school year. Post Road Management and JL Mann Consulting contributed a total of $45,500, which was distributed through the Bridge Educational Foundation. Coterra and People’s Security Bank & Trust contributed a total of $20,500, which was distributed by the Commonwealth Charitable Foundation. 

“We are immensely grateful for the generous funds provided by Corterra, People’s Security Bank & Trust, Post Road Management and JL Mann for the 2024-2025 school year,” said GMS Director Radhika Hoshing. “This investment in education not only strengthens our commitment to Montessori principles but also underscores our shared belief in the power of quality education to shape the future. With this funding, we will continue nurturing young minds, fostering independence, and creating a vibrant learning community where each child can flourish.” 

The funds will be utilized through GMS’s Closing the Achievement Gap program. The program seeks to accomplish one of Grace Montessori’s founding goals: to help low-income children escape poverty by providing high-quality education. The scholarships assist families needing financial aid to achieve school readiness and a foundation for their child’s lifelong learning. GMS reserves 30 percent of its annual enrollment for students who need scholarships. Each year, the school assists 28 families with help from its generous donors. GMS has awarded over $2 million in scholarship assistance throughout its 30 years. 

The EITC program provides educational tax credits for businesses in the Commonwealth to support public, private, and preschool programs. It was signed into law by Governor Tom Ridge in 2001, connecting employers with students for over two decades to improve educational opportunities for low-income families.
