“Dynamo! The Innovators, Inventors and Architects of Revolutionary Change” Travels to Easton July 2–11

Exhibition to Make Special Appearance at Easton Heritage Day

EASTON, Pa. (July 1) — History’s innovators are coming to Easton. This July, Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) and the National Canal Museum invite residents and visitors to experience Dynamo! The Innovators, Inventors and Architects of Revolutionary Change, a traveling exhibition that celebrates the inventors, entrepreneurs, and visionaries whose ideas helped transform the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor into a center of innovation and progress.

The exhibition will be on display in downtown Easton from July 2 through July 10 at the Grand Eastonian (140 Northampton St., Easton, PA 18042).

“Easton has long been a place where history, industry, and innovation intersect,” said Tony Pierucci, Executive Director of DLNHC. “We’re excited to bring Dynamo! to the community and showcase stories that connect our past to the present while highlighting the people whose ingenuity helped build the region we know today.”

Following its downtown exhibition, Dynamo! will make a special appearance during Easton Heritage Day on Saturday, July 11, at the Bank Street Annex (316 Northampton St., Easton, PA 18042). The annual event celebrates Easton’s rich cultural and historical legacy, bringing together residents and visitors to explore the people, places, and stories that continue to shape the community.

“We’re excited to bring Dynamo! to Easton Heritage Day and connect people with the remarkable stories that exist all around us,” said Lianne Greco, Director of Museum and Archives for DLNHC. “Heritage Day is about celebrating Easton’s past and present, and this exhibition helps showcase the innovators and changemakers who played a role in shaping both.”

About Dynamo!

Dynamo! explores the stories of inventors, entrepreneurs, visionaries, artists, and innovators whose creativity transformed the Corridor into one of America’s most influential industrial regions. The exhibition highlights how the area’s natural resources, entrepreneurial spirit, and culture of innovation fueled advancements that continue to impact modern life.

Through five themed kiosks—Industry, Consumption, Innovation, Health, and the Arts—visitors will discover stories of ingenuity and perseverance that extend far beyond the Corridor’s well-known iron, steel, and cement industries. The exhibition reveals how local innovation influenced commerce, science, medicine, education, and everyday life.

The exhibition emphasizes the lasting impact of these “dynamos”—inventors, entrepreneurs and visionaries—whose work not only fueled economic growth but also shaped how people live, learn and create today.

Designed as a traveling museum experience, Dynamo! is part of DLNHC’s ongoing effort to bring history directly into communities throughout the five-county Corridor. The exhibition creates new opportunities for audiences to engage with the region’s industrial, cultural, and social history outside of traditional museum settings.

This program is funded in part by the Gaming Tax Grant Program through the County of Northampton Department of Community and Economic Development.

This exhibition is supported by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with additional support from the National Park Service and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
