Albright College Launches Albright Institute for Non-Profit and Civic Administration

Reading, Pennsylvania — July 8, 2026 — Albright College today announced the launch of the Albright Institute for Non-Profit and Civic Administration (INCA), a new initiative that will provide financial, operational, and administrative consulting services to nonprofit organizations and government agencies throughout Pennsylvania.

The Institute reflects Albright’s commitment to serving as a regional resource by connecting experienced professionals, faculty expertise, and student engagement to help organizations strengthen financial management, improve operational effectiveness, and build long-term sustainability.

INCA will also work collaboratively with Albright’s Center for Excellence in Local Government (CELG), which brings together Berks County municipalities to provide education, professional development, and opportunities for local government leaders to exchange ideas and best practices. Together, CELG and INCA expand Albright’s impact by combining leadership development with hands-on financial and operational consulting that strengthens nonprofit organizations and public agencies across the region.

“At Albright College, we believe our responsibility extends to strengthening the communities we serve,” said Dr. Deborah M. Townsley, President of Albright College. “Through the Albright Institute for Non-Profit and Civic Administration, working alongside Albright’s Center for Excellence in Local Government, we are bringing together the expertise of our faculty, students, and experienced professionals to help nonprofit and public organizations become stronger, more sustainable, and better equipped to fulfill their missions. Together, these initiatives reflect Albright’s commitment to leadership, partnership, and public service.”

The Albright Institute for Non-Profit and Civic Administration will provide consulting and technical assistance in:

  • Financial management and accounting
  • Budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Audit preparation and compliance
  • Capital improvement planning
  • Grant writing and public funding strategies
  • Financial policies and internal controls
  • Interim CFO services and finance executive recruitment

Beyond consulting services, INCA will create meaningful experiential learning opportunities for Albright students through internships and applied consulting projects, allowing them to work alongside experienced professionals while serving nonprofit organizations, municipalities, school districts, and other public agencies throughout the Commonwealth.

“Strong communities depend on strong organizations,” said John Mizerak, Director of the Albright Institute for Non-Profit and Civic Administration. “INCA exists to provide practical financial and operational expertise that helps our partners build capacity, strengthen accountability, and remain focused on the people they serve.”

The Institute is now accepting client engagements and looks forward to partnering with nonprofit organizations, municipalities, school districts, and public agencies throughout Pennsylvania.
