Allentown, PA (Aug. 19, 2016) – Health Network Laboratories (HNL) is delighted to announce that it was awarded full accreditation from the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). HNL has achieved full CAP accreditation status continuously over the last 18 years—since the lab’s creation in 1998— and this current award, once again, affirms that this diagnostic laboratory meets the highest standards of excellence in quality laboratory practices.
The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s, as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own inspection program.
“We are proud of our CAP accreditation which serves to confirm that our clients and patients can continue to expect superior service with the utmost quality, accuracy and peace of mind every time they choose Health Network Laboratories for all of their diagnostic needs — that is what matters most,” said HNL President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Fisher M.D., MBA.
During the CAP accreditation process, designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record and overall management.
