Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade to take place March 20
February 13, 2016 (Allentown, PA) The Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade Committee, Inc. announced today that Steve and Angela Faidley are the 2016 King and Queen of the 59th Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade. The Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade will be held March 20, 2016 and will depart the Allentown Fairgrounds at 2:00 pm.
2016 King & Queen of the Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade Steve and Angela Faidley are originally from Vestal, NY but moved to the Lehigh Valley in 1986. They went to high school together but never knew each other, but jobs at Red Lobster brought them together. 35 years of marriage, 4 children and 4 grandchildren later they continue to feel blessed. Many in the Lehigh Valley know Angela as the owner of Out of Our Minds Art Studio in Macungie but she is also a valued member of the Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade Committee for the last 5 years, serving as our Poster Contest Chair and providing all the artwork for the Parade logo and the official Pub Crawl t-shirts. Steve works full time for Wells Fargo as a Systems Support Consultant.
“It is a celebration of our heritage and an honor to be a part of just a wonderful weeklong event! The biggest plus is that the St. Patrick’s Parade Committee has become an extended family. Not only are we able to celebrate our heritage together but we have become friends. There is nothing like walking into a room, a restaurant or event, were everyone greets you with a smile a wave and a warm hello. It is like coming home.” states Angela when asked what the Parade means to both of them and their family.

About the Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade
The first known St. Patrick’s Parade was held in Allentown in the late 1860’s. Over a century later, in 1955, what we know as the modern day Allentown St. Patrick’s Parade was organized by business and political leaders through the St. Patrick’s Day Observance Society. The Parade ran down Hamilton Streets to the Immaculate Conception Church on Ridge Avenue. The Parade will celebrate its 59th Anniversary on March 18, 2016 departing from the Allentown Fairgrounds at 2:00 pm.
