Lamont McClure wants Northampton County voters to be assured that the Election’s Office is busy preparing and planning for the General Election on November 3rd.
“For those who want to vote at the polls, we plan on fully staffing 154 precincts with 315 voting machines,” says Lamont McClure. “And for those who would prefer to vote via a mail-in ballot, Elections Office employees are working hard to process the applications.”
As of September 1, the Elections office has processed 48,496 applications: Democratic – 31,827, Republican – 11,232, the remaining are other various parties.
Act 77, passed in 2019, allows Pennsylvania voters to cast a no-excuse ballot by mail. With the COVID-19 epidemic, a higher percentage of our citizens are choosing this option.
