GOOD SHEPHERD REHABILITATION NETWORK is spearheading a social media effort – dubbed #PicturesForPatients – that encourages kids and adults to draw, color or paint pictures for Good Shepherd’s adult and pediatric patients and long-term care residents in Allentown and Bethlehem. The goal is to increase positivity and uplift others in this time of uncertainty – plus, give an added boost to the doctors, nurses, therapists and other health-care professionals as they walk through the halls or into rooms. GREATER VALLEY YMCA, Macungie is looking for volunteers to help distribute meals, direct traffic, clean-up and breakdown during our COVID-19 response to school closures. Current opportunities open at Macungie Memorial Park on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Serving time is from 5-6pm but we are asking for volunteer support from 4:30-6:30. SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK Nazareth is looking for volunteers to help with the Emergency Box packing on May 4, 5 and 6. Shifts are 8:30am-11:30am and 12:30pm-2:30pm. Other family members living in your household must not have been exposed to or be at higher risk for COVID-19. Volunteers will be provided water, snacks, gloves, and masks (or bring your own mask.) SHARECARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem needs volunteers to help with taking people to their vital appointments starting in May. All volunteers will have to attend on-line orientation, provide criminal background check, and provide proof of insurance. Cloth masks & hand sanitizer provided to volunteers. WHITEHALL-COPLAY HUNGER INITIATIVE is seeking volunteers to help sort, pack, and distribute food for the Snack Pack Pals program. We also need strong volunteers (able to lift at least 20 pounds) to help unload and load food trucks. Gloves will be available to all volunteers, but please bring your own mask.
