From the daily program, Community Update on Coronavirus, to breaking news via radio and online, to remote learning, newsletters and Facebook forums, WLVR News and PBS39 continue to keep the community informed, from all angles.

Bethlehem, PA. – March 23 – As the Coronavirus crisis continues to sweep the country, PBS39 and WLVR News continue to adjust and add ways to keep the public informed. In addition to the recently launched, daily program Community Update on Coronavirus, broadcast on PBS39 at 3 p.m. and again at 6 p.m., below are some additional resources available to the Greater Lehigh Valley community. These continuously updated resources will provide the latest, fact-based information.

Daily Coronavirus Update Newsletter – This opt-in newsletter provides a short update about the resources that PBS39 and WLVR are offering to the community each weekday. To sign-up, visit CoronaVirusLehighValley.com.

Facebook Forum – This group, Lehigh Valley Coronavirus Updates, is run and moderated by Lehigh Valley Public Media. As the Lehigh Valley reacts to the outbreak, we’ve created this community for readers to share their stories and questions and to keep up with the latest reporting from local outlets. We are encouraging journalists from multiple local news organizations to participate and help moderate this group in a collaborative way to best serve the community. In this group you can ask reporters questions, tell stories about how your family, friends, and workplaces are reacting to the virus, and share resources with members. To join, just go to the page and click “join” to send a request.

WLVR News Coverage – Lehigh Valley Public Media’s Reporter Corps®, a team of multimedia journalists, is covering breaking COVID-19 news hourly and daily on WLVR. You can tune in all day to 91.3, stream online at WLVR.org, or download our mobile app “WLVR Radio”. WLVR is also contributing to our COVID-19 resource center. You can learn more by visiting CoronavirusLehighValley.com.

PBS39 News Tonight – PBS39 News Tonight is a thirty-minute, nightly newscast that airs on PBS39. Unlike commercial news, PBS39 News Tonight is focused on in-depth, community-centric journalism, through stories that are important to those who live and work in the region. This is still true, especially during this unprecedented time. This program is fueled by PBS39’s Reporter Corps®, who are continuing to report on important stories across several counties, which speak to how COVID-19 has affected schools, businesses, personal health and more.

Lehigh Valley Learns – It has become apparent that distance learning is absolutely vital as children may not get back into a classroom for weeks or months. This is why Lehigh Valley Public Media has worked with educators locally, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and nationally to create Lehigh Valley Learns – an over the air educational offering. Lehigh Valley Learns will broadcast over one or more of Lehigh Valley Public Media’s channels in the mornings, with grade specific (K-5) programming at the same time each weekday. If you have access to a computer, you can find more resources from PBS39 at PBS39.org/DistanceLearning.

For additional information and live updates, you can follow PBS39 or WLVR News on Facebook and Twitter.
