As a social media junkie, I look to find people, groups and causes that are inspiring. This amazing group found on Facebook is all about helping those who are need and willing to give what they have for free to others in the Lehigh Valley. This force of community helping each other is a bar none role model of how people can help one another locally. The caring and sharing of stories come with an outpour of support and aid!
“I started this group in January of 2014 in the thoughts of helping other people that have been in the same spot so many have been in that need help. Little did I know that this group would grow so quickly! In a year and a half we have almost 9,500 members in the Lehigh Valley. What the group is designed to do is to help those in need whether it be food, clothing or other necessities. We have helped out people from house fires to unemployed statuses as well as many single mothers. We take donations at the main location in Catasauqua and distribute them to those in need.
My group is a judgment free group and we hope to keep growing and helping out as many families as we can. This group prides itself in maintaining communications among the administrators so as to run the group as smoothly as possible. My hopes for this group have gone way above my expectations of the “Pay it Forward” motto. I am very proud of the help I receive from my other admins as they work very hard and diligently to make sure the group stays in order. The families we have helped are extremely grateful and the look on their faces when they see how much good is in the world is priceless and makes my heart happy. This groups has changed a lot of minds on humanity. Our goal is to not only help others but to change the minds of as many people as possible to also help out others.
I never expect recognition but this is awesome because I know at least word is getting out there!”
