PeepsFest® includes Clifford live at PBS39 plus other family activities
Bethlehem, Pa. — December 27, 2017 — This year will end with a bang, a big red dog, and a very different big bird! Fireworks, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and the dropping of a 400 pound giant PEEP® will be part of the activities at PeepsFest®, now in its ninth year, presented by Just Born Quality Confections and ArtsQuest. The two day festival will feature several events taking place at the SteelStacks campus, home of PBS39, where kids can meet Clifford the Big Red Dog for pictures, hugs, and “high fives”.
The ArtsQuest Center will be full of activity with three floors of music, magic, dancing, and art. There will also be games, educational activities, and a 5K fun run. Two highlights of the event will take place at PBS39 including Clifford, and the PEEPS® Diorama competition, with over 100 entries. Visitors can tour the PBS39 studio and vote for their favorite diorama made with PEEPS®, plus receive a sample from Just Born Quality Confections.
“We are proud to be a part of this family-oriented event, and we’re excited to bring Clifford to meet his many fans and young PBS viewers,” said DaWayne Cleckley, Vice President of Marketing at PBS39. “It is an excellent opportunity to bring our PBSKids content directly into the community, beyond broadcast.”
Clifford is one of the most beloved PBS characters, appearing as part of PBSKids programming since 2000. While no new episodes have been made since 2003, the PBS series starring Clifford, voiced by the late John Ritter, and the many books by Norman Bridwell continue to be favorites of kids worldwide.
PEEPSFEST® is presented by Just Born Quality Confections and the nonprofit ArtsQuest. Festival hours are Dec. 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Dec. 31, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Admission is free, although a few select activities, such as the Family Disco Lounge, Dutch Springs Zip Line and PEEPSFEST® 5K, require an admission ticket or additional charge. Proceeds from PEEPSFEST® go to support the festival and ArtsQuest’s other free programming for the region.
