Allentown School District announces the following events and activities throughout our District. Highlights including some activities happening this weekend:

 

• Raub, Central and Union Terrace Parents/Guardians/Families – December 5; 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: ASD announces the first in a series of Conversations with Parents and Guardians Meetings to be held in the Raub Middle School Gym to include parents and guardians of students at Central and Union Terrace Elementary Schools and Raub Middle School. This is an opportunity to have concerns and questions addressed, as well as discuss support services for all students and talk about working together to resolve issues.

 

• Raub Middle School – December 6; 6:00 p.m.: Annual Winter Concert. Admission is Free.

 

• Building 21 Allentown High School – December 7; 8:45 a.m.: Unveiling of Paul Harryn Painting. The painting was commissioned by a local benefactor for the school and donated to Building 21 Allentown. Paul’s paintings hang in museums around the country, and, in most, if not all of the City Center Allentown buildings. Paul’s art was the subject of an exhibit at the Allentown Art Museum in 2015.

 

• Trexler Middle School – December 7; 6:00 p.m.: Winter Concert. Admission is Free.

 

• Jefferson Elementary School – December 8; 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Winter Wonderland. Students will be learning about the holidays around the world, making crafts, culinary works, taking pictures with Santa and getting gifts at the holiday shop.

 

• South Mountain Middle School – December 13; 5:30 p.m.: Winter Concert. Cost: $3 per person.

 

• Sheridan Elementary School – December 13; 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Sheridan Art Exhibit at Capital Blue Store. Artwork created by our students, depicting outdoor parks and playgrounds, will be on display on the community art wall on December 13 from 6 – 8 p.m. The student artwork will be auctioned off during the event with all proceeds going to building a new playground for our school. The Capital Blue store is located at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, 2845 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley, PA.

 

• Muhlenberg Elementary School – December 14; 12:00 p.m.: Lehigh Valley Mall Performance by string students.

 

• Dieruff High School – December 14; 7:00 p.m.: Dieruff Winter Band and Choir Concert. Cost: $5 adults, $3 students.

 

• McKinley and Union Terrace Elementary Schools – December 15; 12:00 p.m.: McKinley and Union Terrace Chorus Performance at Lehigh Valley Mall.

 

• ASD – December 17 and 18; 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Holiday Book Fair to benefit ASD’s Challenge 5 at the Barnes and Noble at Lehigh Valley Mall. In addition, through January 1, Barnes & Noble at Lehigh Valley Mall is holding a Book Drive to benefit the District’s Challenge 5 campaign. Patrons can purchase and donate a book of their choice to ASD.
