APD TOWN HALL MEETING SCHEDULED
The Allentown Police Department will hold a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, August 18 at 7pm at Sheridan Elementary School at 521 N. 2nd Street. The public is invited to attend.
The scheduling of the Town Hall Meeting comes on the heels of an Interfaith & Multi-Cultural Rally held outside City Hall on July 11 to support police and stand-up for communities of color.
The meeting will include welcoming remarks by Mayor Ed Pawlowski and a presentation by Police Chief Keith Morris. Plans call for attendees to then break into small groups with members of the police department command staff to ask questions and discuss how we continue to build positive relationships and effective practices utilizing the voice of our community. Volunteers will take notes from the smaller sessions and then report back during for a wrap-up session for all in the school cafeteria.
The Town Hall Meeting will be facilitated by Tyrone Russell, Coordinator for Racial and Ethnic Justice for the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley.
