ArtsQuest invites you to join us for the second week of SoccerFest, a month-long celebration of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ at SteelStacks.
This week’s highlights include live FIFA World Cup watch parties, including the much-anticipated match of U.S. vs. Australia on Fri, 6/19 at 3 p.m.; live music, youth soccer clinics, hands-on arts activities and a unique opportunity to learn more about Bethlehem’s soccer history and the storied Bethlehem Steel Soccer Club through presentations by local historian and author Dan Morrison.
On Saturday, June 20, Morrison will present “Bethlehem Steel Soccer Club: A Family Connection to America’s Soccer Pioneers” at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the Visitor Center at SteelStacks. Through photographs, research and personal family stories, Morrison will share the remarkable history of the Bethlehem Steel Soccer Club, one of the most successful and influential teams in American soccer history. Two of Morrison’s great-uncles were among the Scottish players recruited to Bethlehem to compete for the powerhouse club, providing a unique personal connection to the team’s storied legacy and its role in shaping professional soccer in the United States.
The presentations complement the new exhibit, “Forged in Steel: The Founders of Modern Day American Soccer,” currently on display at the Visitor Center and featuring rare early 20th century memorabilia and artifacts.
That same day, the Parkland Area Soccer Club will also be hosting accessible youth programming with an adaptive clinic for children with disabilities at 11:15 am followed by a general youth clinic at 1:15 p.m.
