EASTON, Pa. (May 25, 2023) – Two teachers from the Lehigh Valley and one from New Jersey participated in a once-in-a-lifetime shopping spree through the world’s largest selection of Crayola products today.

Crayola Experience Easton celebrated teachers during Teacher Appreciation Month with its first World’s Most Colorful Shopping Spree—Teacher Edition.

Nearly 1,200 area teachers were nominated by students, parents, colleagues, friends, and family members. Three teachers were randomly selected from the pool of nominees for the colorful shopping extravaganza:

  • Pam Lagler from Circle of Seasons Charter School in Fogelsville, Pa.
  • Michelle Gifford from Paxinosa Elementary School in Easton in Pa.
  • Jessica Lombardo from Mount Prospect Elementary School in Basking Ridge, N.J.

The winners had 64 seconds—a nod to Crayola’s iconic box of 64 crayons—to dash around The Crayola Store and grab as much Crayola product as they could. The Crayola Tip character acted as their “shopping cart” and along with family, friends, students, and school mascots cheered on the teachers.

At the end of the dash, Lagler, Gifford, and Lombardo got to keep what they collected to stock their classrooms for next year and Crayola Experience matched the products and donated them to the school. As a bonus, all the students in the winning teachers’ classrooms received a free ticket to visit Crayola Experience this summer.

Crayola Experience gathered more than 2,000 teacher nominations and selected nine winners across the three participating locations in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Arizona for shopping sprees held this week. In appreciation for the work teachers do to educate, motivate, and inspire the next generation, Crayola Experience offers teachers free annual passes to its attractions.
