Bill Ruggiero Athlete and Only person to have coached at all 3 Slate Belt Schools- Bangor, Pen Argyl and Pius X
Bill graduated from Rutgers in 1963 then earned graduate credits from ESU and Penn State and spent 50 years teaching Health, Physical Education and Driver Education. One of his biggest loves was coaching. 41 Years he put into the profession coaching football and baseball and boys and girls basketball. Bill will go down in Lehigh Valley Sports History as the only person to have coached at all 3 Slate Belt Schools- Bangor, Pen Argyl and Pius X.
Mr. Ruggiero has been married to Jane (Miller) for 52 years, has three sons and six grandchildren who will join him on November 21 as he is inducted into the 14th Class of Lehigh Valley Sports Hall of Fame at The Gin Mill & Grille Music Hall, 1750 Main St.
The doors open at 11:30 AM with Sports Trivia being played from 11:30 to noon. At noon The First Ever Fall High School and College Most Outstanding Athletes will be presented. The luncheon starts at 1 PM and the cost is $20. At 2 PM A Silent Sports and Entertainment Auction will take place followed by a 50/50 drawing to benefit the Winter Sports Awards. The Inductions begin at 2:15
T-shirts are available for sale that includes the Inductees and Most Outstanding Athletes names on them. The cost is $15. Please make checks payable to L.V. Sports Hall of Fame, 311 Mulberry St. Catasauqua, PA 18032 for shirts, Donations, program ads and t-shirt advertising. Ads run from patron ads $5 and $10 Business card ads are $25.
