Good Shepherd Pediatrics clinic at SoccerFest
Free events are part of activities at
Lehigh Valley SoccerFest starting June 11
Bethlehem, PA–Good Shepherd Pediatrics is partnering with Lehigh Valley United to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children with additional needs to learn the sport of soccer when they host a free Good Shepherd Pediatrics Soccer Clinic at the FIFA World Cup™ SoccerFest & Viewing Party at SteelStacks this June. The clinic, for ages 5-18, will take place June 20 at 2 p.m., and is open to the first 25 individuals who register at www.lvsoccerfest.com.
During the Good Shepherd Pediatrics Soccer Clinic, children will enjoy a fun-filled experience as they discover the excitement and challenges that make soccer the most popular sport in the world. Lehigh Valley United players and coaches will provide one-on-one, personalized instruction with assistance from Good Shepherd Pediatrics staff to teach skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting. Following the soccer activities, participants will enjoy arts and crafts presented by the teaching artists of the Banana Factory Arts Center, followed by the 3 p.m. match between the United States and Sweden, shown on the Levitt Pavilion screen.
Good Shepherd Pediatrics Occupational Therapist Jennifer Schueck explained that many children with additional needs can feel overwhelmed by what is going on around them and that the clinic is a great way to enjoy the game in a safe, non-judgmental and inclusive environment.
“Our pediatric therapists will be on hand to guide and support every child who participates,” says Schueck. “It’s a great day to get outside, get some exercise and have fun.”
