United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley Seeks Nonprofit Leaders



 

2019 Harvard Fellowship Program

 

Application Deadlines: Tuesday, February 19, 2019 

Allentown, PA – United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley is seeking nonprofit leaders for the 2019 Harvard Fellowship Program.

Leaders of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s human service nonprofits are eligible to apply for one of two fellowships to the prestigious Harvard Business School. The first is the Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations (PMNO) from May 28–31, 2019. This program, valued at $4,750, is possible thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor and United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. The application deadline is Tuesday, February 19, 2019.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidate must be based in Carbon, Lehigh or Northampton counties and be a senior nonprofit leader with a budget in the range of at least $1 million.
  • Candidate must be responsible for implementing effective performance measurement and management in their organizations.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of one year of experience working in their current role.
  • Organizations must be fully operational with a minimum of 5-6 full-time employees.

The second scholarship opportunity is to the prestigious Harvard Business School’s Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management program from July 14–20, 2019. This program, valued at $6,500, is possible thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor and United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. The application deadline is Tuesday, February 19, 2019..

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidate must be based in Carbon, Lehigh or Northampton counties and be a CEO, President or Executive Director of a human service nonprofit with a budget of at least $1 million with a minimum of 5-6 full-time employees.
  • Candidate must be responsible for shaping organizational direction, mission, policies and major programs and must meet Harvard’s program admission criteria
  • Candidate must have a minimum of one year of experience working in their current role
  • Organizations must be fully operational for one year and be out of the start-up phase.

The fellowship funds tuition, books, case materials, accommodations and meals. The fellow will learn and benefit from the workshop on behalf of his or her organization and will share their new knowledge with nonprofit executives in the Greater Lehigh Valley.
