Fundraiser, presented by Easton comedian Liz Russo, benefits addiction recovery efforts in the Lehigh Valley
Comedian Dave Landau headlines the annual ‘Dry Humor: Stand-up for Recovery’ show at SteelStacks Jan. 24, 7:30 p.m. The show is presented by Easton native and nationally touring comedian Liz Russo. A celebration of Russo’s own 8-year sober anniversary, the event, which features all clean and sober performers, serves as a fundraiser to generate much needed funds for local addiction treatment efforts. Cutting his comedic teeth as a teenager in Detroit in Second City’s Conservatory, Dave Landau has risen to become one of the most in-demand headliners working today. He’s appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and “Gotham Comedy Live” on AXS TV, and was a finalist on season 8 of “Last Comic Standing.” He’s become a regular on the nationally-syndicated “Bob & Tom” radio show and was honored as one of the top 21 club comics of today at HBO’s Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Landau is open about his past drug abuse. His father died of brain cancer when he was young, and Landau describes “coping” with drugs and alcohol as a teen. He has been clean and sober for many years.

Patrick Holbert
A regular of the New York comedy scene, Holbert can be found in the city’s hottest comedy rooms every night. He has performed on Sirius XM and hosts the internationally syndicated TV show “The Movie Loft.” He has appeared on TruTV’s “Hack My Life” and “Mysteries at the Museum” on the Travel Channel. Holbert is strong in his recovery, however he still loves junk food. “I may be sober from booze eight years, but I still try to get tipsy on Zebra Cakes,” he says.
Liz Russo – Host
Inspiring and self-deprecating in turn, Russo shares her life’s struggles and triumphs in her act. She is the reigning three-time winner of Best Comic of the Lehigh Valley named by Lehigh Valley Style Magazine. Her personable and wry delivery has made her a hit at comedy clubs and festivals across the country, scoring opening slots for celebs like Colin Quinn, Gilbert Gottfried, Jim Norton and Lisa Lampanelli. Russo has been featured on SiriusXM and the YKWD Podcast, as well as appearances on FOX TV, CBS and Amazon.
Patrons don’t need to be in recovery to attend Dry Humor, just a willingness to laugh. A portion of proceeds from event ticket sales will be donated to Stepping Stones Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit that helps individuals struggling with addiction and their families. The organization raises funds to provide housing, education and community resources to individuals suffering from addiction to ensure a lifelong successful recovery.
Dry Humor takes place in the Fowler Blast Furnace Room of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. This show will contain adult language and/or situations. Anyone coming in between the ages of 13 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No child 12 or under will be admitted.
