Calypso Elementary School in the Bethlehem Area School District has been named a 2017-2018 Distinguished School under the federal guidelines for Title I Schools. The highest 5% of all Title I schools in Pennsylvania earned the title of a Distinguished Reward School – High Progress based on their ELA and math PVAAS growth.
“The District is proud of the hard work and dedication of our Calypso administration and staff. Mrs. Bast and her staff are committed to the success of the students and families that they serve, and this award recognizes their unwavering pursuit of excellence,” stated Dr. Joseph Roy, Superintendent of the Bethlehem School District.
Each year the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Division of Federal Programs honors the top performing Title I schools in Pennsylvania. There were 118 Title I schools selected for the Distinguished School award. Calypso’s award marks the first time a school in the District has received this honor.
