Eye on Elementary:
The Bethlehem Area School District has 16 elementary schools, all in different locations, but all giving the same first class education. Every few weeks we focus on a new school and take a minute to show you what makes the school the special place that it is.
Today we take a look at Hanover Elementary with principal Tim Lynch.

Healthy Tip from Michelle Martucci, RD, LDN
Dietician for Bethlehem Area School District
Be patient and positive! Making changes takes time. So if your family is used to unhealthy foods, but you’re looking to make a change to healthier habits take it slow. Introduce new healthy foods and habits slowly and with a lot of positive attitude. Celebrate even small accomplishments!
.
There is a new and improved District Wellness Policy. To review the policy please see the district’s home page https://www.beth.k12.pa.us/ and look for the banner that will lead you to the link.
Did you know that the district, in cooperation with the Kellen Foundation has already provided forty-six 3rd grade classes with guest speakers to teach “Eat Real Food”, forty-five 4th grade classes with “Healthy Choices” and forty-six 5th grade classes with “Eating Out Survival Skills”
Gardens are planned or completed for Fountain Hill, Donegan, Marvine, Asa Packer, Farmersville and Governor Wolf and William Penn.
The Bethlehem Area School District strives to help our students learn to be healthy and develop life long health habits.

Baseball Umpires Needed
Bethlehem Umpires Association (BUA) is actively taking applications for baseball umpires! Whether you are an experienced umpire, or looking to break into the game as a rookie, we have the appropriate level for you.
We offer a competitive level of play for all levels of experience and the opportunity to umpire throughout the greater Lehigh Valley area. Our organization officiates over 1500+ games for Little League, Travel Teams, Connie Mack, Youth Legion, and LVMSBL (Men’s League) from April until November.
Take your passion for sports and turn it into a part time avocation that will enable you to give back to the community. We accept members starting at 16 and offer education, training and mentorships to improve your skills and obtain higher level games as you gain more experience.
If you are an experienced umpire and you would like to try to get involved in a group we would love to hear from you.
We meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month from February through September, contact us today through our website (www.bethump.org) or email us at bethumpassoc@gmail.com for more information! We look forward to speaking with you soon about umpiring for the BUA.
