Our always on the go looking for what you need to know contributor Janel Spiegel has found the down low on an up coming album release from Mission: Infect, plus she caught up Lo Key for an exclusive interview.
What can the fans expect from Mission: Infect from this ten-year reunion?
Lo Key – Material wise – we are releasing 30 new songs on New Year’s, as well as a series of music videos called “The INFECT Saga”. But more importantly, fans can expect a renewed interest in something that a lot of them were into at an earlier part of their life. A lot of these people have tattoos of our logos and it was a major part of their life for a while there. I think they have the most to expect. New fans are more than welcome in our family though!
Will there be shows in the Lehigh Valley for the fans?
Lo Key – It is a possibility. There is certainly demand for it in the area. The main issue is, most of the roster is not in the Lehigh Valley and those who are not actively doing shows. But I would not be totally surprised to see a few shows pop up this coming year with that MISSION: Infect logo on it.
What do you want the fans to know about the album and what would Mission: Infect like to say to the fans?
Lo Key – The new double album is a continuation of a double album we released in 2007 and we’ve done our best to bring back the original sound of that era. We’ve enlisted all the original members, and recruited some new members. I think people will really be blown away whether you are a casual hip hop fan or a die-hard MISSION: INFECT Soldier.
The following that MISSION: INFECT has in the Lehigh Valley alone is incredible. How do you guys feel about the longtime support?
Lo Key – We all collectively put in a lot of work in this area (Lehigh Valley) over the span of many years between all of us, whether it was through MISSION: INFECT or our other ventures. So, it’s not surprising that there is a lot of supporters in this area. It’s been home base for some really talented, hardworking individuals and people recognize that. Of course, we are humbled and honored to have they’re support!
