February 10, 2015 (Old Zionsville, PA) The Village School announced today that registration for the 2015 – 2016 school year is now open to the public. The Village School offers two-year, three-year and pre-kindergarten classes. The Village School is located in the Old Zionsville United Church of Christ at 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, PA 18068.
The Village School was founded in 1980 with a dedication to the social and educational needs of the preschool child with the goal to provide a nurturing, enriching and educational learning experience for children ages two, three and pre-kindergarten. The Village School offers three programs; a two day two-year old program, a three day three-year old program and a 4 day pre-kindergarten program. The programs are open to the public and presently have availability in all classes for 2015-2016.
The Village School program is celebrating 35 years in 2015 and prides itself on maintaining educational standards so that young students are prepared for kindergarten. The Village School classes allow for individualized attention to enhance each student’s talents and social skills while teaching basic skills that will help form their education at this vital age.
In addition to the standard classroom curriculum, The Village School also overs enrichment programs for all students. In 2014 The Village School launched two new programs; Literacy Through the Arts and Yoga Lunch Bunch. Literacy through the Arts is presented by resident artist Dave Fry. Dave Fry is a Lehigh Valley musical icon and is the founder of Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, PA. Frey previously worked with preschool children through the Bethlehem based grant program PASELA, Promoting and Supporting Early Literacy through the Arts. Fry and the children write songs using rhythm, vowels, circle dance and alphabetical order. Yoga Lunch Bunch with Cyndi Reichard has been incorporated with much success. Cyndi is the Pre-k teacher and is a certified yoga instructor. Children learn yoga instruction through the use of poems reinforced with graphics that teach different yoga poses. In addition to the two new programs, The Village School also includes pottery painting, support of DeSales University Act 3 theatre program, community based field trips, and bi-monthly lunch bunch opportunities for all students.
