The new Client 1st Financial podcast brings together local leaders for candid conversations about money, family, service and the experiences that shape what they hope to leave behind.
FOGELSVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 15, 2026) — After nearly four decades helping families plan for the future, Michael Fischer has learned that a story almost always lies behind the numbers. A retirement goal may trace back to a lesson learned from a parent. A giving strategy may begin with a childhood experience. A financial decision may be shaped by a mistake someone never forgot.
Those are the stories Fischer hopes to explore through Legacy League, a new podcast from Client 1st Financial that brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs and people making a difference in the Lehigh Valley for candid conversations about life, money, family and the experiences that shaped them.
“After 38 years of doing this work, I’ve learned that a financial plan only tells part of someone’s story,” said Fischer. “Behind it are parents who taught them how to save, experiences that changed the way they think about giving, mistakes they learned from and people they want to take care of. Those are the conversations I want to have on Legacy League.”
Throughout his career, Fischer has spent thousands of hours sitting across the table from individuals and families, learning not only where they want to go financially, but what brought them there. That curiosity about people and the experiences behind their decisions became the foundation for Legacy League.
Legacy League takes the kinds of conversations Fischer has spent decades having with clients beyond the walls of his office and into the broader community. Topics range from early experiences with money and family expectations to career decisions, community involvement, philanthropy, success, planning for the future and lessons learned along the way.
Rather than approaching those topics solely through the lens of financial planning, Fischer wants the podcast to create space for the personal stories that often sit underneath them.
“I’ve spent most of my career asking people questions about where they want to go,” said Fischer. “With this podcast, I get to ask more about how they got there. I’m interested in what shaped people, the lessons they’ve carried with them and what the rest of us might be able to learn from their experiences.”
For Fischer, the local focus is an important part of the series. After decades of working and serving in the Lehigh Valley, Legacy League offers another way to connect with the people shaping the region and share parts of their stories that may not come through in a professional biography or résumé.
Early episodes feature voices from across the Lehigh Valley, including Ashley Russo,
co-founder of Turnstone Creative and CEO of Magnaplate; Laura McHugh, chief engagement officer at United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley; and Eric Strauss, partner at Gross McGinley, LLP. Conversations explore everything from growing up in a family business and learning early lessons about money to philanthropy, estate planning, community involvement and defining success on your own terms.
New episodes of Legacy League will be released once a month beginning Oct. 15 and will be available on Spotify, YouTube, Amazon and Apple Podcasts.
