It has been a busy weekend for our Red Cross disaster volunteers in Lehigh and Berks counties. Here is some updated information from our team:
- Red Cross volunteers provided assistance to 18 people after affected by a fire Saturday along South Saint Cloud Street in Allentown.
- Red Cross volunteers provided assistance to 25 people after affected by a fire Sunday along North Ninth Street in Reading.
After local disasters such as home fires, the Red Cross can provide assistance such as a safe place to stay, financial assistance and emotional support.
“We are so grateful for our volunteers who continually step up to help their community in times of need. These compassionate neighbors provide immediate care, comfort, and resources to families in crisis,” said Peter Brown, executive director of the American Red Cross Pennsylvania Rivers Chapter.
Thanks to donations, our services are free and available for all those in need. Visit redcross.org to support our lifesaving work.
