EAST ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania — Husband-and-wife team Jeremy and Allison Scavazzo have officially closed on the acquisition of 5751 Nor-Bath Boulevard in East Allen Township. The three-tenant commercial property, formerly occupied by a luxury resale boutique and an HVAC company, will undergo a full interior conversion to become the future home of Scavazzo’s Gilded Cleaver, a family-owned butcher shop and provisions market.
Commercial financing for the acquisition was arranged by Jeff Barber of Lehigh Financial Group, LLC.
The venture marks a deep-rooted personal milestone for head butcher Jeremy Scavazzo, whose family trade traces back to the early 1960s. Jeremy learned meat cutting at a young age under his grandfather at Dottie Lou Meats & Catering in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. Scavazzo’s Gilded Cleaver will feature classic family recipes and methods passed down directly through generations.
“I grew up in the business,” Scavazzo said. “I learned everything from my grandfather at a very young age… The dream was to always own my own shop one day. Everything is just starting to come to fruition. Getting back into the business is exciting. I always said if I was going to get back into the business, I wanted to do it for myself—be my own boss—and that’s what’s happening.”
Demolition and interior buildouts are scheduled to begin immediately, launching a two-month construction plan to merge two units into a unified shop. The facility will feature a temperature-controlled prep room, existing walk-in cooler and freezer infrastructure, and two custom smokehouses.
The phased operational launch will initially highlight house-made smoked meats, kielbasa, and jerky, with future expansions targeting deli lunch meats, charcuterie boards, gourmet cheeses, and full-service deer processing.
While Jeremy oversees daily retail operations and meat manufacturing, Allison Scavazzo, a senior corporate finance leader, will manage financial oversight, back-office administration, and long-term business planning.
“Jeff was just really knowledgeable, really great to work with,” Allison Scavazzo said regarding the financing process. “He was one of our most important resources throughout this… Whenever we didn’t know what to do, he was our first call. He answered every question, he was very patient with me… I can’t imagine working with anyone else.”
“Jeremy and Allison bring an incredible mix of heritage, hands-on trade skills, and corporate finance expertise to this launch,” said Jeff Barber of Lehigh Financial Group. “Guiding local entrepreneurs through the complex process of securing financing for their lifelong goals is what drives our team. We are proud to have helped them throughout the entire process to establish a brand-new staple in the Lehigh Valley”
The real estate transaction was brokered by listing agents Nick D’Egidio and Mario D’Egidio of Coletta Commercial Realty, who represented both the buyers and seller. Legal counsel for the buyers was provided by Rob Jacobs, Esq. of Easton. Funding for the loan transaction was provided by 44 Business Capital.
The owners are targeting a fall grand opening event featuring a community pig roast. Additional business background and project updates can be found at ScavazzosGildedCleaver.com.
