On Sunday, June 14, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) held a special ribbon cutting ceremony at Camp Mountain House to debut its new 2026 renovations.
GSEP’s Girl Adventure Place is a new lodge that will expand year-round programming opportunities for girls in Lehigh County, featuring modern bathrooms, enhanced overnight camping amenities, a volunteer training facility, and a trading post to elevate the camp experience.
Camp Mountain House is on South Mountain in Allentown and has welcomed campers for more than 80 years. It offers eight weeks of day camp each summer for girls in grades K-12, providing hands-on experiences that foster independence, teamwork, and leadership development in an outdoor setting. To ensure this project did not have a negative impact on the environment, GSEP invested more than half a million dollars in water management.
Senator Nick Miller and State Representative Milou Mackenzie, who helped secure funding for the project, was in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony alongside GSEP leaders to share remarks on the renovations.
