SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (December 10, 2024) – KidsPeace has been named a 2024 Culture Innovator by an employee recognition software provider, for its creative use of the company’s employee recognition and rewards system.
The award is part of the Kudos organization’s annual Best Culture Awards – a national recognition of groups using the platform to help support their internal employee culture. In announcing the Culture Innovator award, the Kudos organization cited KidsPeace’s “unique strategies used to
build an exceptional workplace culture.”
KidsPeace has used the Kudos system since 2017 to facilitate a positive internal culture among its employees (known as “associates”). The system allows associates to send recognition messages to colleagues and award them “Kudos points” that can be exchanged for branded apparel and gift cards available only to KidsPeace associates.
Earlier this year KidsPeace’s Associate Engagement function – which includes Director of Communications Bob Martin and Engagement Specialist Jessica Huaman — rebranded the system as “Kudos4KidsPeace,” as part of a
campaign to encourage more participation among associates. The rebranding effort included creating “culture corners” on the platform to celebrate associate activities; making more organization-wide communications (including videos) available via the platform; adding more KidsPeace-branded items to the Kudos points “store;” and promoting the use of a Kudos4KidsPeace app that gives associates access to its offerings outside of the workplace. Since the rebranding started, more than 90% of KidsPeace associates have accounts on Kudos4KidsPeace, and participants on the system exchange an average of 40,000 to 50,000 points with each other a month.
Kudos user Liliana Benanchietti, a recruiting assistant at KidsPeace, uses the recognition system extensively. “It enables me to interact in a personal way with coworkers I would only interact with over email without it,” she said. “KidsPeace has so many locations, but Kudos really helps to build connections across teams, buildings, and states, and it never fails to brighten up your day when you receive a message!”
“Simply put, KidsPeace IS its people – its dedicated associates working throughout our Continuum of Care. They deserve an internal culture as supportive and caring as they are, and the expansion of offerings in the Kudos4KidsPeace platform is helping us build that culture with them,” said Michael W. Slack, KidsPeace president and CEO. “This national recognition is a sign that we are succeeding in that effort, and I congratulate the Associate Engagement group and all those using Kudos4KidsPeace to make our organization an even better place to work and have a productive career.”
