The first home game of the season for the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks started off with a bang, as they took on the Wagner College Seahawks. The day was also designated as ‘Dog Day’, which allowed many canine fans to bark and cheer for their favorite team. The only part of the game we could have done without was the rain.
The Mountain Hawks dominated the field throughout the first half of the game with an astonishing 42-0 lead by halftime. Interestingly, each touchdown was scored by a different player, creating a team effort theme that would carry the Mountain Hawks throughout the game.
As the third quarter began, The Mountain Hawks scored another touchdown and field goal which brought the score to 49-0. The Seahawks followed with their first touchdown, and a ‘no good’ ruling on the field goal. The score ending the third quarter was 49-6.
For the last and final quarter, The Seahawks scored another touchdown and field goal bringing the final score to 49-13, a triumphant Mountain Hawks victory.
The Mountain Hawks return to Goodman Stadium on Saturday, September 21st to take on Princeton.
