Lehigh Valley, PA — August 12, 2024 — Shanthi Project, a mindfulness education nonprofit based in the Lehigh Valley, will host its next fundraising event on September 5th, in conjunction with the book release of Mindful with Me: Connecting with Your Child Through Daily Mindfulness, written by Sarah Dennehy.

Dennehy, formerly the Program Director at Shanthi Project, was recently promoted to the full-time position of Senior Director of Programs, a decision aligned with Shanthi’s efforts to help bolster and expand its educational programming to impact more students and professionals within the community.

In addition to the promotion, Dennehy recently published her first book, Mindful with Me: Connecting with Your Child Through Daily Mindfulness, a guide for parents on how to help young children practice mindfulness and emotional regulation.

To celebrate the book release, Shanthi Project will be hosting a book signing event, as part of its fundraising event series, Shanthi After Hours. The event will be held at 3rd and Ferry Fish Market in Easton, PA and give guests the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of Mindful with Me and learn more about Shanthi’s work in supporting mental health in the community. Book and Puppet Company, a

family-owned independent bookstore and gift shop based in Easton, will be onsite as the retail partner.

“I feel lucky that I get to share mindfulness with so many people in the Lehigh Valley through Shanthi Project, and now I’m so excited to be able to share it with a larger audience as well,” said Dennehy. “Mindful with Me is a great resource for parents, teachers, and therapists who want to learn simple, fun mindfulness routines that help children manage emotions, increase focus and attention, and connect with others.”

– Sarah Dennehy, Author of Mindful with Me and Senior Director of Programs for Shanthi Project

In support of Shanthi Project’s mission to teach social-emotional resiliency through the practice of mindfulness, 3rd and Ferry Fish Market will donate a portion of sales on September 5th back to the organization. A 50/50 raffle will also help raise essential funds for Shanthi Project’s school-based mindfulness programs.

While supplies last, all event attendees will receive a complimentary bag of mindfulness-related goodies, courtesy of Lehigh Valley-based nonprofit, Joyful Giving.

The Shanthi After Hours book signing event is open to the public, and all are invited to attend. More information about Shanthi After Hours and Dennehy’s book release can be found at www.shanthiproject.org/shanthi-after-hours
