St. Luke’s, Capital Blue Cross Continue Trusted Relationship

Two of the Lehigh Valley’s leading names in healthcare will be continuing their longstanding relationship in 2025 and beyond. St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) has agreed to a three-year renewal of its employee coverage with Capital Blue Cross.

Capital has provided healthcare coverage to all of St. Luke’s 20,000 employees and their family members since 2022. St. Luke’s is among the Lehigh Valley’s largest employers, with 15 campuses and more than 300 care sites throughout nine counties in eastern Pennsylvania.

“Capital Blue Cross is honored that St. Luke’s continues to put its trust in us to serve their employees and families,” said Capital President and CEO Todd Shamash. “It speaks volumes that a major regional employer in the healthcare field has continually relied on us to help ensure their employees have high-quality, affordable coverage. Their team is top notch, and we look forward to growing our partnership.”

“St. Luke’s has had a longstanding relationship with Capital that has assured their members easy access to the kind of high-quality outcomes and patient experiences for which St. Luke’s has long been known,” said St. Luke’s Senior Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Officer, Scott Wolfe.

“St. Luke’s has received numerous awards as the region’s best healthcare employer. A few months ago, we were once again named a Top Workplaces nationally, in Pennsylvania, and in New Jersey. In addition, St. Luke’s was recognized by Forbes Magazine as the top-ranked employer in the Lehigh Valley and one of the best employers in Pennsylvania.  One reason for these designations is our compensation structure and generous benefit plans. Renewal of our relationship with Capital to continue to provide our employees and their family members a comprehensive health plan is an affirmation of a great partnership between our two organizations,” said St. Luke’s Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Evan Ochs.

A broad range of Lehigh Valley employers trust Capital to provide their employees and families with high-quality, affordable care. Capital’s group customers in the region range from small businesses to major employers, as well as school districts and municipal governments.

Capital also continues to make significant investments in the Lehigh Valley, including fully renovating its regional headquarters on Hamilton Street in Allentown and opening a Capital Blue Cross Connect health and wellness center at the site. Capital also updated its Capital Blue Cross Connect center in the Promenade Shoppes at Saucon Valley.
