EMMAUS, PA – July 23, 2024  JuxtaHub, an arts and innovation center located in Emmaus, is pleased to announce that applications for individual studio space are now open. With a $2M renovation currently underway, the facility plans to open in early 2025. JuxtaHub will host two events for prospective artists, on July 27th and August 1st to answer questions and provide a “sneak peek” of the 21 studio spaces being developed, which range in size from 112 to 419 square feet.

“We seek artists aligned with reaching JuxtaHub’s inclusive, multigenerational audience, artists who want to make a difference in the world around them and are committed to collaborating with other resident artists and community members,” explains board member Michael Baker, who has helped lead the art program committee.

“Ideally, they will envision projects that not only advance their own work, but also promote community engagement and artistic growth through workshops, events, and special projects,” Baker adds. The JuxtaHub phase 1 renovation also includes a large multipurpose classroom space suitable for teaching a variety of media. A portion of the available studio space will be available for group rentals; applications for group-use studios will be announced later in the year.

In addition to submitting a portfolio and CV, artists seeking studio space should be prepared to demonstrate their past experience in developing effective collaborative endeavors and both the communication and professional skills that helped them achieve that success. For those moving from another studio space, a limited amount of interim storage space is available. Artists may register for the open house events and submit an initial application by visiting juxtahub.com. The deadline for application is August 31st.
