‘World’s Largest Swimming Lesson’ Event at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom

Dorney Park partners with Boys & Girls Club of Allentown, Swim-in Zone delivering aquatics education experience to 200 event registrants

ALLENTOWN, PA (June 20, 2024) – This morning Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom joined hundreds of waterparks, aquatic centers and swim schools across the country for the 15th annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson.

The event, coordinated by the World Waterpark Association, brings together leading water safety and training organizations with all types of aquatic facilities to kick off the official start to summer by teaching kids vital water safety skills to raise awareness about childhood drowning and send one focused message – Swimming Lessons Save Lives.

This year at Wildwater Cove, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown and Swim-in Zone for the first time. Park leaders say the partnerships give them the opportunity to expand the program in our community.

“As we’ve stated throughout the year, we are constantly looking for ways to expand outreach through our Dorney Park Cares program,” said Dorney Park Communications Manager Ryan Eldredge. “This is yet another example of Dorney leading the way, providing opportunities and help to children and families in our region.”

“At Swim-in Zone, we work closely with Stop Drowning Now to educate our local communities about water safety while also providing elite swim instruction so that we may strive to eliminate drowning incidents across the United States,” said Josh Ferraro Aquatics Manager at Swim-in Zone.

After the event, children and their families were invited to stay for a day of fun at the park.
