Citizens for Responsible Development – LST presents the Second Annual Save the Forest Music Festival on Sunday July 28, 2024 at the Grist Mill, 150 W. Walnut St, Hellertown, Pa. Four local bands will perform.
This event is all about celebrating nature and raising awareness about the importance of preserving 275 acres of our forest from landfill expansion. Enjoy live music, delicious food, children’s interactive play, live animals, and more from 1pm to 5pm. Bring your own chairs, your friends and family for a fun-filled day outdoors at the Grist Mill.
Citizens for Responsible Development-LST is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to protecting rural parts of Lower Saucon Township from expansion of the Bethlehem Landfill. Its efforts are focused on 275 acres of forest on the banks of the Lehigh River which has been targeted by the landfill.
The sponsoring venue, the Hellertown Historical Society (HHS), is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Hellertown, PA. HHS, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, preserves the Heller-Wagner Grist Mill, Pony Bridge, the Grist Miller’s House, Wash House, and related historical buildings and Hellertown’s heritage through collection, preservation, and exhibition of selected mill-related and Hellertown-related documents, artifacts, and photographs.
This will be an outdoor event from 1pm to 5pm, so attendees should ring their own chairs or blankets. Avilion is a tribute cover band to the 70s, 80s, 90s, dance and rock, with a high energy show. The Funk Nuggets is an eclectic Easton PA band with trumpet and sax playing funk, rock, and more. The acoustic duo Steel Moon will perform. Hatter is a four piece rock band from the Lehigh Valley that will play pop, rock, and dance hits from the 50’s to the 2000’s & originals too!
Local rescue and conservation groups will have exhibits and exhibitions. There will be food trucks with an assortment of delicious menu items, ice cream, and desserts. We will have a kids corral with craft activities and live animals. There will also be a plant and bake sale.
Tickets are available at a discounted rate before the event on the website Eventbrite. Tickets will be $30 per person at the gate. Children under 12 are free.
All proceeds protect 275 acres of forest in Lower Saucon Township from landfill expansion activities.
