ALLENTOWN, Pa. (June 4, 2024) – Graduation season is upon us, and Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania (CIS of Eastern PA) celebrated the class of 2024 through a series of ceremonies presented by Olympus Corporation of the Americas. The events honored over 100 seniors touched by CISEPA services. CIS of Eastern PA serves high school students in 11 school districts in Northampton, Lehigh, Berks and Chester Counties.

“As we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our 2024 graduating class, we are reminded of the profound impact Communities In Schools of Eastern PA has on our student’s lives,” said Tim Mulligan, president and CEO of CIS of Eastern PA. “This celebration not only honors the hard work and perseverance of our graduates but also underscores our mission to empower every student to stay in school and achieve in life.”

This year, the nonprofit awarded four outstanding students tuition-assistance scholarships:

‒ Issac S. and Rondiel Q. from Lincoln Leadership Academy were awarded the Joan Benner Fuller Scholarship.

‒ Ayana B. from Easton Area High School and Emma I. from Emmaus High School received the Chandler-Barnes Scholarship.

Each scholarship recipient was gifted $1,500 toward the educational institution of their choice.

Each site coordinator from the 11 high schools CIS of Eastern PA serves has organized an event to honor their seniors, ranging from intimate breakfasts or luncheons to full-scale ceremonies. Students and families from schools in all four counties participated in the events.

“We are thankful to Olympus for their unwavering support of our organization’s mission and for helping our students build bright futures,” said Mulligan.

CIS of Eastern PA has impacted over a quarter million students in the Lehigh Valley since 1983.
