Musikfest 2023 has begun once again and lovers of this Fest have been roaming the streets and grounds since Wednesday evening, checking things out and catching some early acts!
My first concert this Summer was Dan & Shay who performed on the Steel Stage on the Southside of Musikfest.
First opener was Kendal Conrad who hails from Pottstown and has found home right here in the Lehigh Valley!
She started with “Come to Your Senses.”
Sang a couple of covers by Shania Twain, Taylor Swift. Ended with “Leader of the Pack” which received 26 million views!
Check out what she is up to on Facebook, Instagram & other social media sites.
Jonathan Hutcherson came out a few minutes after Kendal, he checks in from Lexington Kentucky.
His opening songs were “Dust, Love Takes Time.” Another new song: “Falling Feels Like” (unreleased).
“Go South” was a cool tune that will be released Sept. 8th. He ended his set with “Blue Collar.” It would be great to see him in concert again.
It was nice to hear that Jonathan’s parents traveled up to see their son in concert right here in Bethlehem at Musikfest!
Dan & Shay hit the stage at 8:30pm
Opened with “10,000 Hours”, the entire crowd were on their feet singing and swaying along.
“Shadows” got the fans screaminggggg!
Found myself singing along as well, ha.
Things slowed down a bit with “What Keeps You Up At Night.”
First #1: “Nothing Like You” followed.
New Record will be Released Sept. 15th.
After a few minutes of crowd interaction and videos, they continued with “From The Ground Up”
Hit after Hit: “You”, “Lying” and a few others.
Their New Album: Bigger House will be out on Sept. 15th. New Singles: “Save Me the Trouble”, “Always Gonna Be” were played and cameras were clicking away. Once again Country Music draws an all ages crowd and it was great to see folks dancing around.
After a quick break, they picked up and sang “Glad You Exist”, (acoustic).
Followed up by yet another new song: “Bigger Houses.”
Dan tickled the ivories a bit with “I Probably Should Go to Bed.”
Winding down the event with “Speechless”, song written by Shay for his wife Hannah.
It was great to see the video board behind the stage showing Shay and Hannah’s Wedding Day!
Fans waved in unison with cell lights held up high!
As requested by all the fans, they closed with “Tequila!”
Their stage presence was spot on and I hope to see Dan & Shay back in the Lehigh Valley!
This was a truly Amazing Concert!
