Bethlehem, PA, July 27, 2023 – Musikfest is back for its 40th year anniversary and this year’s free stage lineup is filled with a variety of musical genres for everyone to enjoy. From rock to polka and hip-hop to pop, we have something for everyone!

Wheatus is an American rock band from Northport, New York. Formed in 1995, Wheatus is well known for their 2000 single “Teenage Dirtbag.” This song has appeared in the film Loser and Bully, the HBO miniseries Generation Kill, Netflix original series Girlboss and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the Hulu original miniseries The Girl from Plainville. The band toured coast-to-coast in 2019, followed by Europe and the U.K. They will be performing on Friday, August 11 at 9:30 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

Nappy Roots is an American alternative Southern rap group. The group formed in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1995. They are best known for their hit singles “Po’ Folks”, “Awnaw” and “Good Day.” In 2002, the group was the best-selling hip-hop group. Nappy Roots will be performing on August 9 at 9:30 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

MAGIC! was formed in 2012 by Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Nasri (lead vocals), Mark Pelli (guitar), Ben Spivak (bass) and Alex Tanas (drums). Their debut single “Rude” came out in 2013 and held the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for six weeks, while dominating charts globally. The single hit #1 in 41 countries and recently has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. MAGIC! has released three studio albums, toured with Maroon 5 and headlined shows worldwide. They will be performing on Friday, August 4 at 9 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

Devon Allman & Donavon Frankenreiter are rock ‘n’ roll recording artists looking to make history in 2023. The longtime friends have teamed up for the See It All American Tour where they are attempting to set the Official World Record for fastest time to play a concert in each of the 50 states, which is currently 50 in 50 days set in 2003. They hope to complete the challenge in 49 days. They will kick off their tour in both MD and PA, performing here on Saturday, August 5 at 9:30 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

Jenny & the Mexicats is a fusion of nationalities and personalities. The band had its beginnings in Madrid as Pachucos y la Princesa in June 2008. A musical combination that mixes rhythms of jazz, rockabilly, folk, flamenco, reggae, country and cumbia, which gives Jenny & the Mexicats a unique, inimitable persona. They will be performing on Sunday, August 13 at 7 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

Cimafunk, Grammy-nominated Cuban musician, Erik Aleandro Iglesias Rodríguez, is known for combining funk and hip-hop with Cuban and Afro-Caribbean music. His most recent album, El Alimento, was released in October 2021. Cimafunk will be performing on Monday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

The Black Opry is home for Black artists, fans and industry professionals working in country, blues, folk and Americana genres and has been revered by the African American community for decades.They will be playing on Monday, August 7 at 5 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

Scythian is a Celtic rock/Americana band from the DC area formed in 2002 and has grown to be a headliner for the U.S. Celtic Festival Circuit and the Bluegrass/Americana Festival Circuit. For over 12 years, Scythian has found success as an independent band and has played over 1,300 shows all over the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia. The band will be performing at PNC Stadtplatz on Tuesday, August 8 at 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday, August 9 at 7 p.m. at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.

Donna The Buffalo is a country, folk/Americana, rock band that has played countless festivals since 1989. Festivals include Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, Telluride, Austin City Limits Festival and more. They have opened for The Dead and have toured with Peter Rowan, Del McCoury, Los Lobos, Little Feat, Jim Lauderdale, Rusted Root, Railroad Earth and others. They will be performing on Sunday, August 6 at PNC Stadtplatz.

Shamarr Allen is the definition of New Orleans hailing from the Lower 9th Ward. Allen has influences in jazz, hip-hop, rock, funk rhythms, blues and country. He has collaborated with numerous renowned artists such as Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Galactic and more. Allen is also a music composer, writer and producer. He will be performing on Saturday, August 5 at 9:30 p.m. at PNC Stadtplatz.

The Rumble featuring Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. is composed of six Grammy-nominated musicians. The Rumble is more than just a band, it is an opportunity to be immersed in New Orleans culture. The group fuses iconic New Orleans funk in the vein of The Meters and The Neville Brothers-but updated, modern and vibrant. The Rumble will be playing on Sunday, August 6 at 7 p.m. on the Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavillion SteelStacks.

The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is an American country blues band from Indiana. The three-piece band has played at various venues and festivals since 2006. To date, they have released ten albums and an EP, most of which have charted on Billboard and other charts. They will be performing on PNC Stadplatz on Wednesday, August 6.

A record-breaking 1,240,000 people attended Musikfest in 2022. The 11-day festival featured over 500 free performances, across 16 stages located throughout the City of Bethlehem.
