The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 Chamber Scholarship! Introduced in 2017, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Foundation was set to serve college-bound students living within the Greater Northern Lehigh footprint in the school districts of Northern Lehigh, Northwestern Lehigh, Northampton Area, and Parkland.
The 2023 recipients of this $500 scholarship include: Christina Rabenold (Northampton School District), Aicha Salih (Northern Lehigh School District), William Gruen (Northwestern Lehigh School District), and Sierra Hohenshilt (Parkland School District).
“Each year, our Board of Directors reviews dozens of applications for the scholarship program, and each year, we are blown away at the caliber of students within our region,” said Kylie Adams-Weiss, AVP of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “The selection process is always challenging, but our 2023 recipients are top notch and deserving of applause! We look forward to the great things they’ll do in their collegiate careers and as the great business and community leaders they are sure to be.”
Applicants must use the funds to continue their education and must have a clean school record with no disciplinary infractions. Additionally, each student must have at least a “C” grade average or better and be involved with extracurricular activities, and show work and/or volunteer experience.
Each recipient graduated in 2023 with excellent academic records and will continue on to higher education.
The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, which serves Heidelberg, North Whitehall, Lynn, Washington, and Lehigh Townships, as well as Slatington and Walnutport Boroughs, hosts several events per year to engage local businesses and community partners, as well as to raise money for their scholarship fund.
