In his second term leading the County of Northampton, Executive Lamont G. McClure delivered his sixth address on Tuesday, May 24th, at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. Attendees included Lehigh Valley business leaders and government officials. The event was hosted by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) and sponsored by Workforce Board Lehigh Valley, BSI Corporate Benefits, and the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority.
“The future is green for Northampton County,” says Lamont McClure. “As we move forward, we need to grow the middle class and share the benefits that so many of us have. We do not have anyone to leave behind.”
The 2023 State of the County Address hit on what the Northampton County Government has done in the last year, what it is currently doing, and the work that still needs to be done, including a focus on improving the condition of workforce housing, also known as affordable housing. Ensuring that every county resident has sufficient access to broadband. Finally, continuing to fight the fentanyl epidemic with the millions of dollars the County received from settlements with opioid manufacturers.
The address was broadcasted live on 69-WFMZ and is available for viewing in full on WFMZ’s website.
