Championship to Take Place June 21-26 at Saucon Valley Country Club

Bethlehem, PA; May 9, 2022 – Service Electric Cable TV & Communications, as a proud supporter of the 42nd U.S. Senior Open, has been named the Regional Presenter for the Volunteer Headquarters, welcoming nearly 2,000 volunteers to the championship.  The 3,200 square-foot, air conditioned tent will be the center of operations for all volunteer activities, and serve as a break area where volunteers can get refreshments and relax.

Inside the tent will be a festive atmosphere, with fun activities, decorations, giveaways and raffles for the volunteers, plus seating for more than 100 people.  In addition, Service Electric Network (SEN) will be on-hand in the tent to talk with volunteers and record footage for “The Mike Zambelli Show” to air in the following weeks. The championship will be shown on four large TVs inside the tent throughout the event, giving the volunteers a view of the action from the U.S. Senior Open while taking a break from their duties.  Breakfast and snacks will be served daily, thanks to Service Electric’s partners including Red Robin, Factory LLC and Wegmans, plus raffle prizes will be awarded to volunteers from Copperhead Grille, Steel Club, X-Golf, J Hilburn and others.

“Working with the USGA and MSG Promotions to plan this event has been a real pleasure,” remarked Mike Starner, senior business development & government affairs manager at Service Electric. “We are looking forward to meeting the volunteers and providing a much needed break from the activities that each of them deserve.”

“The USGA is thrilled to be working with Service Electric in supporting the volunteers for the 42nd U.S. Senior Open” said Bryan Miranda, the managing director of partnerships and hospitality for the USGA. “We appreciate the focus that SEN will put on telling the volunteer’s stories through their cable network since volunteers are truly the lifeblood of the championship.”

A new feature at this year’s Senior Open is The 19th Hole, an area filled with activities in a festival atmosphere. It includes golf simulators and a 9,000 square-foot, professional-grade putting green, with teaching professionals providing mini-lessons throughout the championship. Service Electric is a major supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley, Valley Youth House, and First Tee – Lehigh & Berks. Kids involved in those organizations will have the chance to watch and learn the game of golf during their visit to the U.S. Senior Open.

The 42nd U.S. Senior Open runs from Tuesday, June 21 through Sunday, June 26 at Saucon Valley Country Club. A special ‘volunteer appreciation day’ will take place on Monday, June 20 where volunteers and members of Saucon Valley Country Club can get a ‘sneak peek’ at the championship and become familiar with the course layout and requirements.
