Lamont McClure and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announce that the County of Northampton will begin accepting applications for Round 2 of the 2021 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) grants on August 2nd. EMS grants are available to Northampton County professional, volunteer fire and non-profit emergency medical service organizations. They can be used for capital improvements, vehicle purchase, equipment purchase and training. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $50,000 per application or project.
The application process opens on Monday, August 2nd, and closes on Friday, September 10th. Approvals are scheduled to be announced in October 2021.
“Fire departments and EMS organizations provide critical protection to the residents of Northampton County,” says Lamont McClure. “In these most trying of times we want to be as supportive of our emergency responders as possible.”

Grants are awarded via a competitive process through a committee consisting of DCED staff and County Council members.
