The Bethlehem Area School District is excited to announce the following Principal Nominations that were approved at the April 26, 2021, Regular Board Meeting.
The Freedom High School principal vacancy will be filled by Laurie Sage. Ms. Sage served as Assistant Principal at Freedom High School for the past four years and taught English there as well. She is an alum of Moravian College where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and her Administrative Certification.
Our Northeast Middle School principal vacancy will be filled by Dr. Theodoro Quinones. Dr. Quinones served as the principal of Governor Wolf Elementary School for the past six years. Prior he served as an Assistant Principal at Stroudsburg High School and as an Assistant Principal at Stroudsburg Intermediate Elementary School. He also taught 4th grade at Easton School District and nine years in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Dr. Quinones received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Albright College, his Master’s Degree from California State University and his Doctorate from East Stroudsburg University.
The James Buchanan Elementary School principal vacancy will be filled by Amanda Hinkel. Mrs. Hinkel served as the Assistant Principal at Liberty High School for the past 7 years. At Liberty, she also served as the Dean of Students and English Teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science from Kutztown University and her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University.
Our Miller Heights Elementary School principal vacancy will be filled by Lisa Young. Mrs. Young is presently a 1st grade teacher at Governor Wolf Elementary School and also serves as the lead teacher for the school. She has taught in the district for over 25 years. She also taught kindergarten and 2nd grade in the East Penn School District. Mrs. Young received her Bachelor’s of Art Degree from Temple University, her Master’s Degree from Lehigh University, and her Educational Leadership Certification from Moravian College.
We welcome Ms. Sage, Dr. Quinones, Mrs. Hinkel, and Mrs. Young in their new positions in the Bethlehem Area School District.
