Repaving work will close portions of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the city of Allentown through at least Monday, June 8. Work will begin at approximately 6:00 a.m. weekdays and extend into the evening.
It is all part of a milling and paving project that began on May 18.
The project stretches from American Parkway heading west on MLK to S. 10th Street.
The tentative schedule will be as follows:
On Monday, June 1 crews will pave from American Parkway to the brick walkway at Union Street (MLK statue).
On Tuesday, June 2 crews will work the north side of MLK from the brick walkway at Union Street to Lehigh Street.
On Wednesday, June 3 work will include the south side of MLK from Union Street to Lehigh Street.
Crews plan on paving the intersection of MLK and Lehigh Street on Thursday, June 4.
On Friday, June 5 the north side of MLK will be paved from Lehigh Street to S. 10th Street.
It is anticipated the project will be completed on Monday, June 8 by paving the south side of MLK from Lehigh Street to S.10th Street.
