Contributions help fund United Way initiatives to support students, families and seniors in the Greater Lehigh Valley and beyond.
Allentown, PA, March 2, 2020 – Air Products has again increased its commitment to the communities it serves, raising more than $3.4 million through its annual United Way campaign. The donations, which will support community initiatives in the Greater Lehigh Valley and throughout the country, were raised by Air Products’ current employees, as well as retirees, and matched by the Air Products Foundation.
“Through donating to the United Way, our employees and our retirees can become champions of social causes that really ignite their passions. We applaud their willingness to support the good work of United Way, and the Air Products Foundation is proud to match their generous giving,” said Simon Moore, vice president of Investor Relations, Corporate Relations and Sustainability at Air Products, and president of the Air Products Foundation.
Contributions to United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) support students and seniors and work to ensure that everyone has access to nutritious food and emergency services. UWGLV’s program investments directly impact the lives of 75,000 people each year.
“Air Products is fully committed to the communities it serves, and this is yet another example of their leadership and dedication. Thanks to support from their employees and retirees and the matching gift from Air Products Foundation, we can make an even greater impact in the Greater Lehigh Valley and beyond,” said Paul Hurd, Chief Development Officer, UWGLV.
“We’re excited about the difference we’re able to make. We know that United Way’s job every day is to solve problems in our community. By involving employees and our retirees, we can help to solve those problems,” remarked Laurie Hackett, Community Relations Director for Air Products.
UWGLV raises money and invests in programs to achieve three bold goals: increase the number of third graders reading on grade level, decrease the number of food insecure residents, and increase the number of seniors whose basic needs are met at home.
