BETHLEHEM, PA (July 1, 2019) – The Bethlehem Area School District recently released the second season of its “Built by Bethlehem Podcast” featuring recently graduated students from both Freedom and Liberty high schools.

The series, which is hosted by BASD Superintendent, Dr. Joseph J. Roy, focuses on the students and how they have taken advantage of opportunities that the community provides for them in school. The Built by Bethlehem Podcast is produced by students in Liberty High School teacher Timothy Treweek’s class, who make up Bethlehem Sound, an independent record label, recording studio, and production company, run entirely by student artists and engineers.

The title of the podcast, “Built by Bethlehem” is meant to reinforce the idea that our schools are supported by our community and our schools then give back to the community through graduates that go on to live and work in Bethlehem.

The ten interviews wind from students’ beginnings in the district, whether they begin in Kindergarten or are transfer students from other countries to their planned futures post graduation.

Roy said the podcast medium is one that allows for an even better look at what’s going on within the district.

“I want to take advantage of multiple social media tools to share BASD news and interviews,” he said. “The podcast allows for short, interesting conversations with students and BASD community members about their experiences with the district. Podcasts allow people to listen anytime, anywhere and are short enough to listen to while you are driving, running or walking around town.”

All ten episodes are currently available to listen to. “Built by Bethlehem” can currently be found by searching for “Built by Bethlehem” on iTunes, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Pocket Casts, and anywhere else someone enjoys listening to podcasts.
