Mackenzie to Host Free Working Families Resource Fair in Upper Macungie on August 22

Allentown, PA. – Congressman Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07), representing the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos, will host a free Working Families Resource Fair on Saturday, August 22, bringing together community organizations, employers, and local partners. The event will connect families throughout the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos with valuable resources, services, and family-friendly activities.

The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Upper Macungie Lifestyle Center, located at 340 Grange Road, Allentown, PA 18106.

“As the father of two young children, I’ve been committed to supporting working families in our community,” said Congressman Mackenzie. “In Congress, I’ve worked to strengthen the Child Tax Credit, expand access to affordable child care, and support policies that help families succeed. This fair is about bringing those efforts home by connecting families with local organizations, employers, and resources while offering fun activities for parents and children.”

The free event will feature:

  • Community organizations providing information on local programs and services
  • Employers with current job opportunities
  • Family-friendly games and activities
  • Children’s book readings
  • Crafts and coloring
  • Life-sized board games
  • Presidential Fitness testing
  • An opportunity to write Christmas cards for servicemembers
  • Constituent service assistance from Congressman Mackenzie’s office
  • And more

A free document shredding event will also be held in the Grange Park complex, across from the lifestyle center, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Residents may bring up to four boxes of documents, with each box no larger than standard luggage. For those unable to attend on August 22, secure document collection bins are available at Congressman Mackenzie’s district offices, with the exception of the downtown Allentown office.

The Working Families Resource Fair builds on Congressman Mackenzie’s efforts to deliver results for families, including helping secure an increase in the Child Tax Credit, expanding access to affordable child care, and advancing policies that help parents keep more of what they earn while making it easier to raise a family.

Community organizations interested in participating may still request a free vendor space by contacting Justine Bachman at justine.bachman@mail.house.gov. Vendor space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Commercial activity, including the sale of goods or services, will not be permitted.

Additional participating vendors and event details will be announced in the coming weeks.
