Allentown, PA — Congressman Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07), representing the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos, provided the following statement ahead of President Trump’s visit to the Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, June 23rd.
“We’re looking forward to joining President Trump at Mack Trucks — one of our nation’s most iconic manufacturers,” said Congressman Mackenzie. “By investing in American workers and supporting domestic manufacturing, President Trump and Republicans in Congress have helped to put the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos at the forefront of our nation’s industrial revitalization. We appreciate President Trump coming to the region to help us highlight the work we’ve done together to support American workers, families, and industries.
President Trump’s visit to Mack follows Congressman Mackenzie’s Friday press conference at Mack Defense in Allentown. At the event, Congressman Mackenzie joined representatives from Mack Defense and United Auto Workers Local 677 to celebrate the $47 million appropriation Congressman Mackenzie secured for the continued manufacturing of the company’s M917A3 Heavy Dump Trucks.
The Lehigh Valley has been among the fastest-growing regions in the northeastern United States. In recent months, major companies including Eli Lilly and Nokia have announced major investments which will bring billions of dollars and thousands of jobs to the region.
