Special appearances kickoff racing-themed event with Pocono Raceway June 10-16
EASTON, Pa. (June 10, 2024) – Professional racing driver Sage Karam and Pocono Raceway Mascot “Tricky” helped to fuel kids’ creativity today at Crayola Experience during the kickoff of a week of race-themed activities with Pocono Raceway.
Pocono Raceway is bringing the races to the downtown Easton-based family attraction for a colorful takeover June 10-16 to celebrate its upcoming NASCAR weekend. Highlighting the opening day was a guest appearance by professional racing driver Sage Karam, who has competed in INDYCAR, NASCAR, IMSA and Rallycross during his career. The Easton, Pa., native, held a meet and greet with families, and had some family fun of his own with his wife, Abby, and newborn son, Jettson.
Rounding out kickoff event, the raceway’s 2024 Chevrolet Silverado Pace Truck offered a rare photo op outside Crayola Experience’s entrance on Centre Square, while mascot “Tricky” joined Sage to encourage kids to start their creativity engines.
Through June 16, Crayola Experience will have several colorful pit stop activities for kids to engage in, including:
- Molding a racecar crayon
- Painting a racing pennant
- Crafting a race car
- Starring in a racing-themed coloring page
- Designing the ultimate race car
Additionally, Pocono Raceway will have activities and giveaways throughout the week. The pace truck will be back on Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and again on Saturday, along with mascot “Tricky”, from 12-3 p.m.
As a bonus, the first 200 guests to visit Crayola Experience each day will receive a free ticket to Pocono Raceway’s Lehigh Valley Children’s Hospital Kid’s Day on Saturday, July 13.
